De Boer is under contract at Ajax until 2017, but recently stated that he would be interested in offers from big Premier League clubs this summer. Newcastle United have recently been linked with the 44-year-old and they could be set to make De Boer an offer at the end of the season.
With all the uncertainty Ajax have reportedly asked De Boer to make a statement on his future as soon as possible, and after a 1-0 defeat to AZ Alkmaar on Thursday he revealed that he is more likely to stay than leave Amsterdam.
De Boer is quoted by NOS saying, “I will soon give clarity to the club. Chances are that I stay.”
Ajax have won the Eredivisie title every season that De Boer has been in charge, but they currently lie 12 points behind leaders PSV.
