PSV Eindhoven let a three goal lead slip before seeing off a battling De Graafschap side 6-3 in Doetinchem.

de graaf psvThe tie between the champions and the bottom side in the Eredivisie was going as expected after half an hour with PSV leading 3-0.

After three minutes Robin Propper diverted a Andres Guardado cross into the path of his brother Davy Propper, who netted from close range. Guardado then made it 2-0 with an excellent free kick into the top corner, before Propper took advantage of terrible defending to make it 3-0.

It seemed a rout was on the cards, but bizarrely PSV switched off and before the break Andrew Driver pulled a goal back. The goal gave the Super-Boeren confidence and after Alexander Bannink made it 3-2, Nathan Kabasale equalised just after the hour mark as the PSV defence fell apart.

De Graafschap were only level for four minutes though before Luuk de Jong saved PSV’S blushes with a calm finish from close range. However only two excellent saves from Jeroen Zoet and a goal-line clearance stopped the home side from equalising soon after.

Eventually Luciano Narsingh calmed PSV’s nerves by making it 5-3 and before the end Gaston Pereiro added a sixth.

PSV move third after the victory, while De Graafschap remain rock bottom.
