Right from kick off AZ were the better side and eventually after 13 minutes they had the lead as Rajko Brezanzic’s shot took a wicked deflection before looping over Hidde Jurjus. The unlucky goalkeeper then kept his side in the game by making several saves, including a point blank Vincent Janssen shot.
De Graafschap had their backs to the wall, but just before the break they leveled the score with Nathanial Will sending a great strike into the top corner from just outside the box.
However any chance of the Super Farmers getting their first points of the season were ended in the second half with two quick Markus Henriksen goals. The Norwegian midfielder headed AZ in front just after the hour mark before finding the bottom corner with a fierce drive two minutes later.
De Graafschap remain pointless and rooted to the bottom while John van den Brom will be relieved at his side’s first victory of the season.
