De Graafschap are off the foot of the table after beating NAC Breda 3-0 in the clash of the Eredivisie’s bottom two.

After an even opening twenty minutes, the home side took the initiative and then the lead. Delano Burgzorg got time on the 16-yard line before his shot rolled through Benjamin van Leer’s hands and over the line.

NAC Breda were poor and should have been 2-0 down at the break but from a free header new De Graafschap striker Charlison Benschop’s effort didn’t trouble van Leer.

Four minutes into the second half, De Graafschap doubled their lead through Youssef El Jebli, who curled a free-kick into the top corner.

Leeroy Owusu then sealed the victory in the final seconds with another free-kick which flew past van Leer.

De Graafschap rise above NAC and into 17th. Two wins since the winter break now have seen Henk de Jong’s side nearing safety. They sit one point off Excelsior in 15th.
