De Graafschap scored a 91st-minute equaliser to hold AZ Alkmaar to a 1-1 draw

AZ threw away a two goal lead at Vitesse in midweek and were looking to maintain their lead over Feyenoord in third spot. John van den Brom welcomed back a fit again Calvin Stengs. For De Graafschap, at least a point would lift them out of the drop zone.

The goalkeepers were on top in a goalless first half with Marco Bizot denying Delano Burgzorg and Leeroy Owusu. At the other end, Nigel Bertrams saved from Oussama Idrissi twice.

Seven minutes into the second half the deadlock was broken by Guus Til, who fired past Bertrams after being found by Mats Seuntjens.

It appeared that Til was going to be the matchwinner but in the 91st minute, substitute Daryl van Mieghem rescued a point for De Graafschap with a strike that found the net via the post and Bizot.

The point means De Graafschap rise above Excelsior on goal difference, while AZ are now only two points above Feyenoord, who have a game in hand.
