The 28-year-old arrived in Spain on Sunday night and after going through his medical he put pen to paper on his contract until 2023. PSV receive a fee of €15 million.
De Jong departs PSV after five successful seasons in Eindhoven which saw the striker score 112 goals and give 57 assists in 204 appearances. He lifted three Eredivisie titles and two Johan Cruijff Schaal’s.
De Jong told the PSV website, “I look back on a great time in Eindhoven with a great feeling. The three national titles are of course the highlight. That’s what you do it for as a top athlete.
“But because I had such a good time in Eindhoven, it had to be a nice overall picture. Seville meets all wishes, for that matter. A beautiful club in a top competition. I want to thank the PSV supporters for their support in recent years. I have always felt the appreciation. PSV will always be a part of me. ”
After spells with Borussia Monchengladbach and Newcastle United, De Jong goes on his third adventure abroad.
Luuk de Jong donkey of a player failed miserably at Newcastle simply shit
chill he only played 12 matches he came in winter transfers and newcastle had a miserable second half during that season i remember after they sold johan cabaye the team was shit after he left
anyway luuk is best option for attacking teams that can play possession game not the defensive teams that play on counter attacks because he is not fast that’s why also he failed at gladbach they bought him to replace Reus that time when they used to play on fast counter attacks with fast players which he is not that type of players
Should be a good move for him especially as it looks like Yedder will leave as well. They lost Sabaria & another CF on loan Silva so will need a few players the first two where involved in 60% plus of their goals.
But should mean he should be starting
Most players who Newcastle buy fail miserably, its a terribly overrated and poorly managed club and has been for years.
