Ronald Koeman has lost his first game as Barcelona boss after Frenkie de Jong conceded a penalty that led to a 1-0 loss to Getafe.

Koeman decided to rest Ansu Fati and Philippe Coutinho from the start against Getafe, while Sergino Dest was handed his first start.

Barcelona struggled to create much against Getafe and after an hour, Fati and Coutinho were needed. However, in the 55th minute, Frenkie de Jong lightly caught Djené in the box leading to a penalty. Jaime Mata netted the spot-kick to make it 1-0.

De Jong was then substituted ten minutes from time as Barcelona went in search of an equaliser. However, Getafe held on to condemn Koeman to his first defeat as Barcelona boss.

Next up is a Champions League tie with Ferencvaros before Real Madrid visit the Nou Camp.
