The midfielder has been out for seven league games but returned to the bench for the game with Osasuna.
Barcelona found themselves 1-0 down after 15 minutes thanks to Jose Arnaiz, and they struggled to find an equaliser before Lionel Messi’s free-kick made it 1-1 in the 62nd minute.
Osasuna were reduced to 10-men when Enric Gallego was sent off for an elbow. De Jong then came off the bench as Barcelona looked for a late winner.
However, in the 94th minute, Osasuna broke and Roberto Torres netted the winner for the away side.
The defeat doesn’t ultimately matter for Barcelona as Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 2-1 to take the title.
