Barcelona confirmed on Sunday that De Jong had a muscle injury in his leg, but would not give a return date for the Dutch international.
According to Mundo Deportivo and Catalunya Radio, De Jong could be out for at least a month. That would rule the midfielder out for the rest of Barcelona’s league campaign, with the remaining eight games to be played in less than a month.
De Jong would then have to focus on being fit for Barcelona’s Champions League clash with Napoli on the 7th or 8th of August.
