However tests on Monday showed no serious damage, and De Vrij will only miss one week of action.

Lazio Physio Stefano Lovati told Sky Italia, “Stefan has had an MRI scan. It showed that there is no major damage. The left knee is only sprained.”

The 23-year-old will miss this weekends top of the table clash with Juventus, but if his recovery goes to plan then De Vrij should be back for the tie against Chievo a week later.
