The 20-year-old winger has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season as PSV sit atop the Eredivisie table, and look set to end Ajax’s four year strangle hold on the title.
However his sparkling form has seen clubs around Europe stand up and take notice of Depay, with Manchester United, Inter Milan, Southampton, and Real Madrid all linked with January moves for the Netherlands international.
PSV have always maintained that Depay, who recently signed a new deal until 2018, will stay with the club until at least the end of the season, and the player himself has no plans to depart Eindhoven until they are crowned champions.
Depay told De Volskrant, “I don’t see myself as the best in Netherlands. I think Wijnaldum is a good and important player. Together we will be champions this year, and then we will see.”
“Maybe i will play in the Champions League with PSV next season, or i might go to another top club. I do not plan, i just want to make steps in my career.
