According to TC Tubantia, Derby County have set their sights on signing Groningen defender Mike Te Wierik.

The centre-back’s contract is up in the summer and Groningen may look to sell their captain this month to receive a fee for the defender.

FC Twente have been previously linked with the 27-year-old, but according to TC Tubantia, Te Wierik could be on his way to England.

Phillip Cocu wants to add a defender to his Derby County squad and have set their sights on the Dutchman. The report states that the Championship side are seriously interested in Te Wierik but there is only one day left in the transfer window.
