Dijk’s future at Ajax looked at an end when he was loaned to Norwich City last January. He impressed in England but couldn’t complete a permanent move to the Championship side and a move to Birmingham City also broke down.
Now, according to De Telegraaf, the full-back is set to be given another chance to impress in the Eredivisie with Ajax failing to find a suitable replacement for the 24-year-old.
Dijks will provide competition for first choice left-back Nick Viergever but Ajax fans will be wondering what this news means for Daley Sinkgraven. The midfielder was converted into a left-back by Peter Bosz last season, but it appears that Marcel Keizer doesn’t see his future in that position.
