Feyenoord have offered Dirk Kuyt a one-year-deal as the Fenerbahce forward closes in on a return to Rotterdam.

kuyt asThe 35-year-old’s contract in Turkey is up in the summer and Kuyt has always spoken of his dream to return to Feyenoord, where he was a crowd favourite between 2003 and 2006.

Now the dream is becoming a reality as AD report that Feyenoord have offered the versatile forward a one-year-deal with the option to extend. An agreement is not yet confirmed, but Kuyt is set to give his answer in March with agent Rob Jansen telling NOS, “Dirk has many options.”

Kuyt scored 83 goals for Feyenoord before leaving to join Liverpool in 2006 and then moved to Fenerbahce in 2012. The striker, who can play as a winger and even right back retired from international football last year after 104 caps for his country.
