Ritsu Doan has left PSV Eindhoven to sign for Bundesliga side Freiburg in a €8.5 million deal.

The 24-year-old joined PSV from Groningen for €7.5 million back in 2019 but the Japanese international could not hold down a regular spot in Eindhoven.

Doan was loaned to Arminia Bielefeld during the 2020/21 season but he has now been allowed to depart the club permanently. Doan has signed a multi-year contract with Freiburg after they agreed to pay €8.5 million.

The attacking midfielder made 64 appearances for PSV, scoring 13 times.
