Speaking to Algameen Dagblad, Dost stated that he was unhappy with his situation in the national team after failing to appear in the victory over Portugal last month.
He said, “That I felt really rotten for a week was the deciding factor.
“It did not go well with the Dutch national team. For whatever reason. I have come to the moment when I say “to here and no further.” It just does not work. ”
The 28-year-old has been scoring for fun in Portugal with Sporting Lisbon but has only netted one in 18 international appearances since making his debut in 2015.
a weird decision really it is still the second game under ronald koeman charge but to be honest Dost hasen’t prove himself in the team he took many chances but he didnt do well .. he said he didnt take the chance but the right word is that he didnt exploit his chances even luuk de jong when he came from the bench he scores
yes real shame! hes only started a few times more used as a sub. and seem he got on with the restr of the team. he had that great last min goal disallowed against Sweden… thought he would have been good with breghuis supplying crosses into the box! hopefully he comes to england plays in the premier league proves himself as the best dutch striker atm
