The in-form Sporting Lisbon striker is set to replace the injured Vincent Janssen in the Netherlands line-up on Sunday. It will only be the 27-year-old’s second start for his country with his first coming a year ago in the 3-2 friendly win over Wales.
Speaking to ANP, Dost spoke of his eagerness to grasp his chance, “This opportunity comes unexpectedly, but that’s football. If one falls, you have to be ready. If you get the chance, you should take it. That I want to do.”
Looking ahead to Sunday, he added, “I’m going to do everything to play well against Luxembourg and score goals. We have enough qualities to win against them. We are committed to doing that. “
