The former Heerenveen striker is widely expected to depart Wolfsburg this summer, and has been linked with a return to the Netherlands with Feyenoord. However, Dost doesn’t believe a move to the Eredivisie is realistic and is targeting England or a stay in Germany.
He told Heroes Magazine, “The Netherlands is impossible for me, that’s not a logical step. In addition, I currently have a good contract. I think that no Dutch clubs can afford. So it’s not real.”
“I want to make another step, in Germany or England to show what I can do.”
The 27-year-old has been linked with Sunderland, while a move to Newcastle United now seems unlikely given their relegation.
