The Dutch newspaper is reporting that Dost has decided to leave Wolfsburg this summer, despite scoring 20 goals as the club finished 2nd in the Bundesliga. The striker has a frosty relationship with the Wolfsburg board, and doesn’t forget that he was third choice at the start of last season. With Max Kruse already signed, and other forwards targeted, Dost wants to go.
Newcastle Unites’s interest in Dost is the most concrete at the moment, with the Premier League club willing to bid €15 million, and already holding talks with the player and his agent.
However Dost is in no rush to accept Newcastle’s offer with the possibility of Borussia Dortmund waiting in the wings, something which AD calls a dream move for the Dutch international. Dortmund want the 26-year-old to lead their line next season, but will need to sell Italian Ciro Immobile before making any interest official.
