Dwight Lodeweges left his role as coach of the U20’s in November in order to concentrate fully on his job at PEC Zwolle, which meant Peter van der Veen stepped up from his role as assistant.

According to AD, Edgar Davids will now step into Van der Veen’s old role but only on a temporary deal up until the friendly with the Czech Republic on April 27th. The KNVB are looking to involve more former internationals with Oranje’s youth teams in the future.

Davids first stepped into management back in 2012 when he acted as player/manager with Barnet FC, but he left that role in 2014. Since then he has worked with the KNVB to earn his coaching badges and has had internships with Telstar and Utrecht.
