Goals galore in Eerste Divisie this weekend as Sparta Rotterdam hit Den Bosch for seven & Ajax Jong find themselves on the wrong end of another heavy beating.

eerste erDordrecht are four points clear at the top after Monday night’s comfortable win at Sportpark De Toekomst in front of just a few hundred spectators. The home side started with the experienced Kenneth Vermeer in goal but the league leaders took a first half lead through Korte. Vermeij was dismissed shortly after for Ajax Jong & Dordrecht never looked back adding goals from Gladon, Alisic & van Nieff to complete a 4-0 win. Sparta Rotterdam are second after they put seven past 10 man Den Bosch in a day to forget for the visitors, Johan Voskamp led the way with four of Sparta’s goals taking his season’s tally to 10. De Graafschap move up to third after a late Lazic goal gave them a 1-0 success at a Volendam side who had been in good form.

Willem II slip to fourth after being held 0-0 at home to MVV Maastricht who extend their unbeaten run to seven games, the home side were hampered by the sending off of Belgian midfielder Robbie Haemhouts & drop two places. Also siding two places are Eindhoven who lost 3-1 at home to Excelsior who are beginning to reap the rewards of some shrewd summer transfer business & find themselves just five points behind second place. Emmen got back to winning ways after their six game unbeaten run was ended by Dordrecht last week by beating lowly Almere City 2-1 with Roland Bergkamp notching both goals. VVV Venlo were denied a third straight win by a last minute equaliser at Twente Jong, Pim Balkestein had given the Limberg outfit a first half lead.

Oss remain rooted to the foot of the table after an eighth defeat in nine games as they went down 3-2 at home to Helmond Sport. Gert Aandewiel has now been in charge for six games & five of them have ended in defeat. Almere City are second bottom with Achilles 29 one point & one place above them after they were beaten for the second game in a row, 2-1 at Fortuna Sittard.
