The club announced through their website that El Ghazi had been suspended due to his behaviour during training earlier on Friday.
The 21-year-old has had to settle for a bench role since Peter Bosz took over in the summer, only getting on the pitch for 58 minutes of the last seven Eredivisie matches. El Ghazi was told by Ajax’s coaching staff on Friday before training that for “Sporting reasons” he would not be included in the squad for the match with Excelsior on Saturday.
That led to an argument between El Ghazi and Bosz, leading to Ajax suspending the winger from the first team until further notice.
I’d be more worried if he was happy with his bench role. The fact that he is frustrated and blew up is not surprising! He’s great to watch, great with the ball down the wing and so much better than Traore in that role. Ajax shouldn’t suspend him, they should applaud his willingness to succeed! Bazoer will be next as he warms the bench too! Bosz is either trying to ruin them or try to make them work at becoming better, but he has to start giving them better chances!
