Eljero Elia has signed for ADO Den Haag on a deal until the end of the season.

The 34-year-old attacker has been training in the Hague for some time, and has now been confirmed as a signing on a short-term deal.

Elia started his career with ADO Den Haag before leaving for FC Twente in 2007. After 14 years, Elia has returned to the club and will be hoping to help the club return to the Eredivisie.

Elia was a free agent after leaving Utrecht at the end of last season and he admitted to ESPN he would have quit the game if he did not join ADO Den Haag, “I had plenty of opportunities, also abroad. But I really chose my family, close to home. That they no longer had to travel and make new friends. I could also go to clubs in the Eredivisie, but I immediately said to my agent: no, you don’t have toThe choice was for me: ADO or quit.”
