According to AD, Feyenoord winger Eljero Elia was arrested on Monday due to his alleged involvement in a brawl in Rotterdam city centre.

The Dutch international’s lawyer Jan Kabalt told De Telegraaf that Elia was summoned to the police station for questioning, but was eventually arrested and held for questioning. AD are now reporting that Elia will have to spend the night in a jail cell as the police wait to hear from other witnesses.
The alleged incident took place in Rotterdam city centre on the night of Feyenoord’s win over AZ Alkmaar in the KNVB Cup last Thursday. According to AD, A man was allegedly knocked unconscious after being involved in a fight with at least two people, but details are still sketchy about the actual incident.
