Emmen once again proved they are a force to be reckoned with at home as they defeated Willem II 4-2 on Saturday evening.

The home side began the game strongly and had the lead in the 20th minute when Miguel Araujo headed in a corner.

Fifteen minutes into the second half, Pol Llonch equalised for the visitors after a fine attack.

Emmen were only level for two minutes before Michael de Leeuw made it 2-1. A minute later, Luka Adzic marked his debut with a goal to make it 3-1.

Mike Trésor Ndayishimiye gave Willem II hope from the penalty spot but Sergio Peña, who had assisted all three of his side’s goals, then sealed the victory for Emmen with ten minutes to go.

The victory means Emmen are now 12th while Willem II remains 5th.
