The Eredivisie clubs have been in constant talks over improvements to the competition and the first big change will come into effect from next season.
At the moment only the club that finishes 18th in the top flight will be automatically relegated, with the two clubs above entering the playoffs.
However, next season that will change with 18th and 17th places automatically relegated and only one club entering the playoffs.
There has also been some changes with money distribution from media, which will be fairer from next season.
Also clubs that reach the Europa League or Champions League group stages will need to distribute 5% of their revenue from European competition to other clubs in the Eredivisie. If they reach the knockout stages, the money is 3.5%. Most of this money will go to clubs that play on real grass, with the KNVB hoping to convince those that play on artificial grass to switch.
