UEFA and Fox Sports have warned clubs against the idea of prematurely calling an end to the Eredivisie campaign.

On Thursday, PSV Eindhoven and AZ Alkmaar followed Ajax by announcing their preference for an early end to the season, due to the corona virus outbreak.
However, this could come with consequences for all Eredivisie clubs should the league come to a group decision to stop.
According to Eindhoven’s Dagblad, Main broadcaster Fox Sports is threatening to withhold the last payment of TV money, which would effect the clubs at the bottom of the table.
In addition to that, UEFA have also sent out a letter to all organisations stating that their inclusion in European Competitions next season could be called into danger if they make the hasty decision to stop.
The statement, which came out after Belgian’s FA decided to end their league early, said, “We are confident that football can be played again in the coming months, according to the guidelines imposed by the authorities. It is premature at this time and not right to stop national competitions.
“Since participation in a UEFA competition is determined by the sporting results in a fully played national competition, premature termination of this would lead to serious doubts about meeting this condition.”
The Eredivisie clubs are set to discuss their next move with the KNVB next Tuesday.
This just shows what a disreputable company Fox Sports is. Ditch them and find a deal elsewhere.
According to SportBusiness, Fox Sports has made no decision yet on this and the VP for Europe/Africa, Frank Rutter, has said they just believe it is premature to cancel right now but to wait a little longer.
French pay TV broadcaster Canal Plus and beIN Sports along with DAZN a global Sports service and Nordic Broadcaster Nent, have or are suspending certain payments… in this time when there is uncertainty on many levels. Not so sure that FOX Sports is ‘disreputable’ for something they have not done yet and even if they do. There are a lot of difficult decisions that individuals and companies are faced with at this time and its easy to point fingers with little actual knowledge but wiser to withhold when in that position.
You think we need to wait longer to discover if Fox is a respectable broadcaster? Seriously?
