Luciano Slagveer’s sixth goal of 2015 gave Heerenveen a 1-0 win over ADO Den Haag in the Kyocera Stadion.

adoheeThe first half in the Hague was a sight for sore eyes with Heerenveen offering nothing going forward, while the hosts created a few chances, but Michiel Kramer and Wilson Eduardo could only send their efforts over the bar. Kramer tried to claim a penalty after a challenge from Kenny Otigba, but his protests fell on deaf ears.

Kramer sent a header straight at Kristoffer Nordfeldt early in the second half, while the goalkeeper also saved from Mike van Duinen. At the other end Heerenveen top scorer Mark Uth continued his dry spell in front of goal as he could only drag wide from a promising position.

It seemed the match would wind its way down to a stalemate, but with just over 10 minutes to go Luciano Slagveer powered past two challenges before slotting past Martin Hansen.

ADO Den Haag have scored in the last five minutes of their last three matches, but they could not find a goal this time, and Heerenveen held on for the victory. ADO Den Haag sit 14th, while Heerenveen move level on points with sixth placed Vitesse.
