Three goals in the opening eight minutes settled the Frisian derby in Cambuur’s favour as they saw off rivals Heerenveen 2-1 in Leeuwarden.

000 camheeThe Frisian derby started in spectacular fashion with three goals in the opening eight minutes. With only a minute on the clock Mikhael Rosheuvel’s cross was volleyed into the net by Sander van de Streek, but Heerenveen leveled six minutes later through Luciano Slagveer, who slotted in Mark Uth’s pass. Straight from the kick off Cambuur went on the attack and Van de Streek fired a low shot past Kristoffer Nordfeldt from just outside the box.

The rest of the first half couldn’t live up to the fast start with neither side creating any real chances to add to the score.  The next clear cut opportunity wan’t until the hour mark when Furdjel Narsingh was played through on goal, but the Cambuur wingers shot rolled inches wide.

Heerenveen had one opportunity to level the scores before the end but Namli could only fire straight at Leonard Nienhuis and Cambuur held on for the three points. The win lifts Cambuur to ninth while Heerenveen stay 6th.
