Cambuur are in a four team group that is still hoping to reach the European play-offs, with eighth place being good enough should PEC Zwolle lift the KNVB Cup, but they were frustrated on Sunday by Dordrecht, who’s relegation was confirmed last week.
The visitors nearly opened the scoring after 14 minutes with Sebastian Steblecki sending a strike against the post, while at the other end Leonard Nienhuis was forced into a good save to deny Everon Pisas. The rest of the first half was dominated by Cambuur, but despite their possession they barely threatened the home side.
Cambuur looked to change the game by adding an extra striker in Marc Barto for the second half, but Dordrecht were happy to sit back and soak up the pressure, which turned the game into a truly dull affair. Bartholomew Ogbeche sent a good chance wide, while Steblecki had a penalty appeal waved away as the game dwindled to a draw.
The point means Cambuur remain two points behind Groningen in the race for eighth, while Dordrecht have two games left before a disappointing return to the Eredivisie ends.
