A 92nd minute goal from Anass Achabar handed Feyenoord a 2-1 win at bottom side Dordrecht.

dord feyDordrecht had fallen ten points from safety and seven behind second bottom NAC after other results over the weekend and relegation seems all but assured. However the home side began brightly against Feyenoord with Mart Lieder sending a shot just wide of the post.

However after 19 minutes a lack of concentration at the back from Dordrecht allowed Elvis Manu to send a header into the net unchallenged and Feyenoord had the lead. The home side continued to control proceedings despite falling behind and only an excellent stop from Kenneth Vermeer prevented Giovanni Korte from equalising just before the break.

Feyenoord improved after the break, but Mitchel te Vrede sent a free header wide, Manu fired over from close range, and Karim El Ahmadi forced Filip Kurto into a fine save from range, as they struggled to find the killer second goal.

Dordrecht equalised on 62 minutes as Jeffrey Fortes met Joris van Overheem’s cross at the back post and his firm header flew past Vermeer. Te Vrede should have restored Feyenoord’s lead ten minutes later, but his shot from close range was blocked on the line by Sean Kleiber.

However Feyenoord were to find the winner in the second minute of injury time as Anass Achabar headed in Nelom’s cross. Goalkeeper Filip Kurto almost netted an equaliser for Dordrecht, but his header was saved by Vermeer.

Feyenoord move four points clear of AZ in third place, while Dordrecht now have only seven games to rescue themselves from relegation.
