The loss to Ajax last week raised questions over whether PSV would get nervous as they closed in on the Eredivisie title, but they eased to victory over Go Ahead.
Memphis Depay had been denied by goalkeeper Mickey van der Hart on three occasions, by the time he wonderfully curled a 30-yard free kick into the bottom corner to give PSV the lead on 23 minutes.
On 39 minutes right back Joshua Brenet weaved his way through three challenges, and after his shot was parried by van der Hart the ball hit Jop van der Linden and rolled over the line. Just before the break a clever free kick routine between Depay and Jetro Willems ended with the left back’s cross being met by Georginio Wijnaldum, and although the captain’s header was saved, Andres Guardado slid in PSV’s third goal.
The second half was played at a canter by PSV, who restricted Go Ahead to shooting from range and although Deniz Turuc tested Jeroen Zoet twice, the away side comfortably saw out the game.
Go Ahead remain just above the bottom three in 15th, while PSV re-open their 14 point gap to Ajax, who play on Sunday against Excelsior.
