After seven league games without a win Excelsior got off to the perfect start in 2015 as they saw off Heracles 3-0 in Almelo.

Excelsior got off to a quick start and took the lead on 13 minutes when Daryl van Mieghem burst down the left before sending a cross along goal for Tom van Weert to slide the ball into the net.
Heracles barely threatened to get back into the game and with 20 minutes to go Van Mieghem was sent through on goal before lobbing the ball over a stranded Dennis Telgenkamp to make it 2-0 for the visitors.
The home side finally appied some pressure to the Excelsior goal, but five minutes before the end the three points were sealed as Carlo de Reuver tapped in from close range.
Excelsior climb up one place to 13th, while Heracles sit 15th.
