NAC Breda’s form over the past five weeks has improved, and they would have been confident of seeing off Heracles and escaping the bottom three, but after 15 minutes a clanger from goalkeeper Jelle Ten Rouwelaar put them behind. Bryan Linssen hit a fierce strike towards goal from a tight angle, which should have been a simple save for the NAC goalkeeper, but it flew past him and into the net.
From that point the home side struggled to recover and ten minutes later a Linssen free kick was headed into the net by Ramon Zomer to give Heracles a comfortable 2-0 lead.
NAC improved as the first half went on and after Divine Naah and Adnane Tighadouini missed good chances, a Demy de Zeeuw free kick was headed in by Mats Seutjens to give the home side hope on 38 minutes.
After the break NAC threw everything at Heracles, but it was the visitors who killed the game on 71 minutes when substitute Jaroslav Navratil finished well after good play from Bryan Linssen.
The win for Heracles puts them six points above NAC with two games to go, and it seems inevitable that the Breda side will feature in the relegation play-offs.
