PSV Eindhoven’s march to the Eredivisie continued on Sunday with a 3-0 victory over bottom side Dordrecht.

PSV DOR 30After the disappointment of losing to Zenit in the Europa league midweek it did not take long for PSV to assume control against Dordrecht with Jetro Willems cross being fired into his own net by defender Jeffrey Fortes after four minutes.

Despite the strong start PSV couldn’t add further goals in the first half although they should have been awarded a penalty when Filip Kurto brought down Memphis Depay, but the winger was wrongly adjudged to be offside.

Dordrecht nearly equalised early in the second half when Jeroen Zoet tipped a Klaiber shot just past the post and from the resulting corner Matthew Steenvorden hit the bar with a header. Shortly afterwards PSV were awarded a penalty for a handball in the box and Luuk de Jong slotted in his 20th goal of the season.

Goal line technology was then a major talking point with Klaiber striking a fierce volley which came down off the bar and over the line, but officials ruled no goal to the fury of the Dordrecht bench.

Jeffrey Bruma added PSV’s third goal with twenty minutes to go, and only some poor finishing from Georginio Wijnaldum and Jurgen Locadia prevented the scoreline from being even bigger.

PSV stretch their lead at the top to 14 points, while Dordrecht are six adrift at the bottom.
