Bertrand Traore was instrumental in the 4-0 KNVB Cup hammering over Ajax in midweek, netting twice, and the on-loan Chelsea forward opened the scoring after 24 minutes. Winger Renato Ibarra burst down the right before cutting back to the edge of the box for Traore to curl a lovely strike into the corner.
Just after the half hour mark it was 2-0 as Marko Vejinovic’s cross found Zakaria Labyad at the back post and the winger made no mistake with a calm finish from close range.
Traore added the third before half time beating Dennis Telgenkamp one on one after racing onto Davy Propper’s through ball.
Heracles were not without chances in the first half but goalkeeper Eloy Room made good saves from Oussama Tannane and Illas Bel Hassani, while Bryan Linssen saw an effort cleared off the line.
The second half saw Heracles create a number of chances, but Room proved unbeatable, and Vitesse claimed all three points, which moves them to 10th in the table while Heracles sit 14th.
