Yesterday a report from De Volskrant revealed a serious case of match-fixing involving Willem II during the 2009/10 season, which the KNVB have called the most concrete evidence of the crime in Netherlands.
However the Tilburg club put the turbulent few days behind them and dominated against Go Ahead Eagles from the start with Ben Sahar heading just wide and Samuel Armenteros seeing a shot cleared off the line.
Just before the hour mark the home side eventually took the lead as Robert Braber rose above Deniz Turuc to head in the only goal of the game. The last fifteen minutes were made more comfortable for Willem II when Go Ahead Eagles were reduced to ten men with Giliano Wijnaldum shown his second yellow card.
Willem II climb up to tenth with the three points while Go Ahead Eagles have now lost five on the bounce and sit 16th.
