twente bRoda JC vs FC Twente

Friday night’s fixture sees 3rd placed Twente travel to take on 11th placed Roda. The visitors have been poor recently but they won 5-2 last week against NAC and will be looking to build on that this week. Roda have been a little unpredictable recently with some excellent wins and surprising defeats. This should be a good game and I expect there to be a fair few goals scored too.

Match goals: Over 2.5 – 2/5

PEC Zwolle vs RKC Waalwijk

Saturday’s action kicks off with this fixture and it should be an interesting match. Zwolle are still keeping the pace with the league leaders in 6th and have been pretty solid this season. RKC are another team who have been unpredictable and you don’t really know what’to expect when they play. I think Zwolle will edge this one.

Match result: PEC Zwolle – 8/15

NAC vs Groningen

NAC had been in cracking form going in to last week’s game with Twente but a 5-2 loss has halted them a little. Groningen continue to perform well and occupy 5th place in the table. This should be a very good game which I think NAC have a decent shot at winning.

Match result: NAC or draw – 7/10

Heerenveen vs Go Ahead Eagles

Heerenveen haven’t been in the best form recently but a creditable draw away to PSV with 10 men last week may have got them going again. Go Ahead are struggling a bit at the moment and after a 3-0 loss at home to Vitesse last week, they are down to 13th. I think Heerenveen should win this one pretty comfortably.

Match result: Heerenveen (-1) – 6/5

Heracles vs Utrecht

Saturday’s action concludes with this match and it’s a tough one to call. Heracles are in 15th and are the league’s lowest scoring team at the moment so there isn’t much for their fans to cheer about. Utrecht have been playing reasonably well and are sitting in 12 but are actually only 6 points off 3rd placed Twente so a win in this match would be ideal. However, its a game where I just don’t see many goals being scored.

Match goals: Under 2.5 – 6/4

ADO Den Haag vs Ajax

Sunday’s action kicks off with second placed Ajax travelling to face 16th placed Den Haag. The home side go in to this one off the back of a 3-0 loss to Utrecht while Ajax are in excellent form having beaten Barcelona during the week. I expect Ajax to continue their good form and win this one to keep the pressure on Vitesse.

Match result: Ajax -4/9

Feyenoord vs PSV

This is a huge game for Phillip Cocu as his team are on a wretched run of form and could find themselves in the bottom half with a loss against Feyenoord. The hosts are going steady this season but last week’s defeat at Waalwijk has moved them down to 7th so a win is needed to move back up towards the leaders. This should be a great match and I think the home side will edge it.

Match result: Feyenoord – 5/4

Vitesse vs Cambuur

League leaders Vitesse host struggling Cambuur in a match I can only see going one way. The home side are in brilliant form and deservedly hold top spot in the league. Cambuur are in 15th after a crucial win at home to NEC last week but i think they will struggle in this match.

Match result: Vitesse (-1) – 19/20

NEC vs AZ Alkmaar

The weekend’s action concludes with bottom side NEC hosting 4th placed AZ. NEC lost a vital match with fellow strugglers Cambuur last week which has firmly planted them at the foot of the table. AZ managed to carve out a 2-2 draw with Roda despite playing a large part of the game with 9 men. I think AZ should win this one despite their setback last week.

Match result: AZ – 10/11
