It was a huge week at the top of the Eredivisie with Ajax defeating AZ Alkmaar and Feyenoord downing PSV Eindhoven. Here is our team of the week.

Andre Onana (Ajax)

The goalkeeper was excellent in Ajax’s victory over AZ Alkmaar with three big saves from Albert Gudmundsson. He also denied Fredrik Midtsjo.

Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord)

One of the revelations of the season in the Eredivisie, Geertruida had another excellent game as Feyenoord defeated PSV Eindhoven 3-1. He completed four dribbles and got himself an assist.

Daley Blind (Ajax)

Was placed at left-back for the clash with AZ Alkmaar and he had a very good game. He played a role in two of his sides goals and was mostly untroubled defensively.

Robin Propper (Heracles Almelo)

Heracles defeated Groningen 1-0 at the weekend with Propper outstanding at the back. He provided the assist for the goal and also made five clearances. He won seven aerial challenges in the game in a dominant performance.

Edson Alvarez (Ajax)

Has regained his place in the Ajax midfield and the Mexican was excellent against AZ Alkmaar. Won the midfield battle with four tackles, two interceptions and four clearances.

Anas Tahiri (RKC Waalwijk)

RKC Waalwijk managed to come away from Vitesse Arnhem with a surprise 1-1 draw on Saturday. Their midfield battled and Tahiri was the standout. He made four interceptions, two completed dribbles and provided two key passes.

Mark Diemers (Feyenoord)

Diemers has often been criticised this season but he put in his best performance for Feyenoord so far in the victory against PSV. He scored the opening goal and was a threat throughout.

Adam Maher (Utrecht)

Utrecht could only manage a 3-3 draw against PEC Zwolle on Saturday but Adam Maher was excellent, providing an assist and a goal. Maher got 115 touches, put in five key passes, and also made four clearances at the back.

Steven Berghuis (Feyenoord)

The Feyenoord captain has struggled in recent weeks but against PSV Eindhoven, he was back to his best and scored a wonderful goal in the 3-1 win.

Dusan Tadic

Ajax’s captain had had a good few days, with a key role in the wins over Willem II and now AZ Alkmaar. He provided two assists in the 3-0 victory. His cross for Davy Klaassen was especially good.

Kwasi Wriedt (Willem II)

Willem II got a big victory in their battle to beat the drop against Emmen on Sunday with Wriedt netting the second goal. The striker was a big threat throughout the game and Emmen’s defence struggled to deal with them.
