Michael Bell chooses his Eredivisie team of the week which is dominated by Ajax and Sparta Rotterdam after their big wins at the weekend.

Joel Drommel (FC Twente)

The goalkeeper is having an excellent season for FC Twente and was recently brought in the Netherlands squad. At the weekend, Drommel helped FC Twente earn a 1-1 draw against PSV Eindhoven.

Drommel made several saves during the game including Eran Zahavi’s penalty.

Dirk Abels (Sparta Rotterdam)

Sparta Rotterdam hammered ADO Den Haag 6-0 on Sunday and one of the stars was right-back Dirk Abels.

Not only did Abels keep a clean, sheet but he also provided an assist in the easy victory. The right-back creates seven chances in the game, had 92.6% pass accuracy and made three interceptions throughout the game.

Daley Blind (Ajax)

After getting criticised for his performances for the Netherlands, Daley Blind showed his class in Ajax’s 5-0 win over Heracles Almelo.

Not only was Blind excellent defensively, he also showed his ability on the ball with several defence splitting passes forward

Marcos Senesi (Feyenoord)

Feyenoord were facing a defeat against Fortuna Sittard as they were 1-0 down and one-man down with Orkun Kokcu sent off. However, Senesi got them back on track with an excellent goal.

The Argentinian was also solid at the back which helped his side go on to win 3-1.

Azor Matusiwa (Groningen)

Groningen managed to hold Vitesse to a 1-1 draw with Matusiwa key in shutting down Oussama Tannane in the midfield.

The defensive midfielder made six interceptions during the game, and three successful tackles as he kept Tannane, who has been in excellent form recently, quiet. A very good performance from the Netherlands U21 international.

Sven Mijnans (Sparta Rotterdam)

The 20-year-old midfielder has been a revelation this season for Sparta this season and he had the best game of his career so far in the win over ADO Den Haag.

Not only did he score a lovely goal, Mijnans created four chances, and completed four dribbles as ADO Den Haag struggled to deal with him. Mijnans is definitely one to keep an eye on this season.

Mike Tresor Ndayishimiye (Willem II)

Willem II and the Belgian midfielder have had a mixed start to the season, but Tresor was once again in great form during the 2-1 win over VVV-Venlo.

The 21-year-old led his side to victory with two assists in the game.

Zakaria Labyad (Ajax)

Stole the show for Ajax in their comfortable 5-0 win over Heracles by scoring two goals and providing an assist.

Has not had a great season so far, but put himself in contention to start against Midtjylland with a sparkling performance. Had five shots during the game, with four on target, created three chances, and had three successful dribbles.

Abdou Harroui (Sparta Rotterdam)

The gem of the Sparta Rotterdam midfield was in excellent form in the 6-0 victory over ADO Den Haag.

He provided a goal and tormented his opponents before going off in the 67th minute. The 22-year-old is definitely ready to move to a bigger club.

Dusan Tadic (Ajax)

The Ajax captain was excellent during the win over Heracles on Sunday, scoring once and also providing an assist.

The Serbian had a disappointing international period but as soon as he puts on the Ajax shirt he is reliable and continues his excellent goalscoring record for the club.

Lennart Thy (Sparta Rotterdam)

Sparta striker Lennart Thy put ADO Den Haag to the sword with two goals in the 6-0 win on Sunday.

Both of his strikes were well taken and the 28-year-old led the line well throughout the game.
