pelle 2The Italian striker has been in hit, and miss form recently, and went his last two Eredivisie games without any goals going into the game against struggling ADO Den Haag.

However it took Pelle only six minutes to open the scoring in De Kuip, as he finished from close range, after seeing his first effort parried out by goalkeeper Coutinho.

The striker then played a part in Feyenoord’s second goal, as he chested down a long ball into the path of Bruno Martins Indi, who finished brilliantly into the corner.

After the break, Pelle added his second, when he converted a Nelom cross from the left, before finding his hat-trick from the penalty spot, after Samuel Armenteros was fouled.

Pelle now has nine goals in eight Eredivisie matches, and is only one goal behind the leagues top scorer Alfred Finnbogason, as the Italian leads his side into the title race.

Narrowly missing out on player of the week was Heracles striker Mark Uth, who also netted a hat-trick, and deserves a mention.
