AD is stating that there is a vote on the 1st of December but it is a formality as the clubs are united in the idea that artificial grass should be banned in the Eredivisie.
Clubs that still use artificial pitches will have until the 2025/26 season to change to real grass. At the moment, four Eredivisie clubs still play their home games on artificial grass: SC Cambuur, FC Emmen, FC Volendam and Excelsior. The latter is the only club not to announce plans yet to switch to grass.
The decision of switching is seen as a big step for the Eredivisie in order to compete with the top six leagues in the world.
