Ajax have sealed top spot in Group G with a comfortable 2-0 win over Panathinaikos.

tete-aja-schonPeter Bosz made eight changes to the side that hammered NEC 5-0 at the weekend, with a number of the clubs youngster coming into the eleven such as Abdelhak Nouri, Donny van de Beek and Matthijs de Ligt.

From the start. Ajax enjoyed long periods of possession but couldn’t really trouble the Panathinaikos defence. Finally two minutes before the break, Lasse Schone broke the deadlock with an excellent free-kick that found the bottom corner.

Five minutes into the second half it was 2-0 as Kenny Tete netted his first goal for the club with a low strike past Luke Steele from just outside the box. The hosts could have added more goals before the end but it stayed at 2-0, a result which seals top spot with a game to spare.
