Injury-hit PSV Eindhoven hosts Sturm Graz in the Europa League on Thursday evening. The kick-off is at 20.00.

PSV is currently sitting third in the Europa League group after only one win from their opening four games so far. However, they are still only one point behind Real Sociedad, who travel to leaders Monaco on Thursday.

A win is now vital on Thursday for PSV against Sturm Graz, who are bottom of the group without a win. A win would given PSV a chance of progression ahead of their final game in Spain against Real Sociedad.

PSV go into the game on the back of a 3-0 victory against Vitesse Arnhem that kept them joint top of the Eredivisie. Sturm Graz drew 3-3 with LASK Linz at the weekend and they are second in the Austrian Bundesliga.

The reverse fixture finished 4-1 to PSV Eindhoven in Austria.

Team News

Maxi Romero is the latest injury casualty for PSV, who go into the game without a number of key players including Eran Zahavi, Cody Gakpo, Noni Madueke, Philipp Max, and Jordan Teze.

Roger Schmidt may opt to pick the same starting eleven that defeated Vitesse comfortably at the weekend.

Possible PSV line-up: Drommel, Mwene, Mauro Junior, Boscagli, Ramalho, Sangare, Gutierrez, Doan, Bruma, Gotze, Vinicius

Sturm Graz have no new injury concerns going into the game and he may opt with the same eleven from the weekend.

Possible Sturm Graz line-up: Siebenhandl; Affengruber, Wuthrich, Geyrhofer; Gazibegovic, Prass, Stankovic, Dante; Niangbo; Sarkaria, Yeboah

Odds

PSV Eindhoven 1/5 Draw 6/1 Sturm Graz 11/1

Must win for PSV

PSV may be missing a number of key players but they showed at the weekend that they still have a strong eleven and that should be too strong for Sturm Graz.

This is a game that Schmidt’s side needs to win if they are going to keep up their chances of reaching the knockout stages. A win on Thursday would put them in a good position heading into the final matchday in Spain.
