PSV Eindhoven defeated Bodo/Glimt 2-1 in Norway on Thursday evening in their final Europa League group clash.

With PSV already through and the clash with Ajax on Sunday, Ruud van Nistelrooy decided to rest Cody Gakpo, Walter Benitez and Xavi Simons. Fredrik Oppegard, Ki-Jana Hoever, Richie Ledezma and Johan Bakayoko all started with Joel Drommel in goal.

PSV had the better of the first half and in the 35th minute, Alfons Sampsted diverted a Hoever header into his own net to make it 1-0.

In the second half, PSV doubled their lead with Anwar El Ghazi setting up Johan Bakayoko to net.

Noni Madueke missed a good chance to make it 3-0 while Drommel made some good saves to keep the hosts out. Deep into injury time, Nino Zugelj did pull one back for the home side but it was only a consolation.

PSV progress but they will face one of the third-placed Champions League sides in the next round. That could mean Juventus or Barcelona.
