Last week in Amsterdam, Ajax were poor and they were lucky to escape a defeat with Union Berlin having superior chances.
Ajax now heads to Germany looking to become only the second team to defeat Union Berlin in their Stadion An der Alten Försterei this season.
At the weekend, Ajax looked good and swept aside Sparta Rotterdam 4-0 to go second in the table, while Union Berlin drew 0-0 against Schalke and they have dropped to third in the Bundesliga.

Can Ajax progress in Europe?
It would be a big blow for Ajax to be knocked out of Europe so early but Heitinga’s side have a very difficult task ahead of them on Thursday.
Union Berlin are a frustrating side to play and they showed last week in Amsterdam that they are more than capable of finding a way through the Ajax defence.
Ajax will need to be quick on the counter and take their chances if they are to progress with Dusan Tadic and Mohammed Kudus the two players that will need to step up.
