Vitesse Arnhem coach Henk Fraser has confirmed that goalkeeper Eloy Room is on his way out of the club after refusing to sign a new contract.

The 28-year-old, who was linked with Everton in the Liverpool Echo on Tuesday, only has one year left on his contract in Arnhem. Speaking to Omroep Gelderland, Vitesse boss Henk Fraser confirmed that Room was on his way out.

He said, “Everyone has ambition, both the player and the club Vitesse. There is also much interest in him. Room knows how I feel about him, but this is obviously been his own choice.”

Vitesse have already signed experienced goalkeeper Remko Pasveer from PSV Eindhoven as a replacement for the Curacao International.
