FC Twente have ended a run of four straight defeats with a 1-1 draw at Excelsior.

Twente will be glad to see the back of November after the off the pitch issues and the four defeats suffered during the month. Rene Hake’s side enter the month determined to move away from the drop zone and they made a good start against Excelsior with Tom Muyters denying Peet Bijen twice early on.
However gradually Excelsior grew into the game and after Jeff Stans missed a glorious chance, Tom van Weert gave the hosts the lead on 38 minutes with a simple finish at the back post.
In the second half Excelsior failed to kill the game and with fifteen minutes left Hakim Ziyech took advantage of a terrible backpass before rounding Muyters and slotting the ball into an empty net.
The point isn’t enough to move Twente out of the bottom three but it brings an end to the terrible run the club has been on. Excelsior sit 12th.
