SBV Excelsior have extended the contract of midfielder Kevin Vermeulen until the end of the 2017-18 season.

vermeulen excThe Rotterdam club are currently without a manager but that hasn’t stopped them getting one of their stars tied up for next few years.

This is what the 25 year old said upon the signing of the contract, “We are happy to have remained in Eredivisie and besides, I’m still really enjoying myself at the club,

“Every day I go with pleasure to the club and I think that is the most important thing. I see plenty of opportunities to develop myself. I have last season played 23 games, but most of them as a substitute. Next season I want play more minutes and not only ten or fifteen minutes at the end of a match, but as a starter.”

Vermeulen made only three starts for the club last season with 20 substitute appearances scoring two goals.
