FC Twente has confirmed the signing of Vaclav Cerny on a season-long loan from Utrecht.

In search of regular first-team football, Cerny left Ajax for Utrecht last summer, but the Czech failed to make an impression in the Cathedral City.

Cerny will now play at FC Twente next season after signing for the club on a one-year loan deal.

The 22-year-old told the Twente website, โ€œI am very happy with FC Twente, I want to fight for a place here. I had a nice conversation with trainer Ron Jans, that gave confidence. I know FC Twente well, after all, I have been in the Netherlands for six years. I made my first goal in the Eredivisie against FC Twente, which was a special moment for me personally. The club has a beautiful stadium with a great atmosphere. Great players have played here. I am really looking forward to it. โ€
